Catherine A. Cotins

Catherine (Cathy) Cotins is an experienced executive coach, facilitator, strategic advisor and leadership industry expert.  Her coaching and consulting work is highly influenced by and leverages her 15+ year career at Harvard Business School (HBS) where she served as Senior Director of Custom Executive Education Programs and Enterprise Learning Solutions. Cathy brings both a broad understanding of business as well as a deep commitment to personal development to her client engagements.

With over 25 years of experience, Cathy has worked with Fortune 500 companies and their senior executives in the US, Asia, and Europe across a range of industries including professional services, health care, biotechnology, financial services, consumer products, manufacturing and government.  At Harvard, Cathy partnered with senior faculty to sell, design and deliver strategically aligned, high-impact, customized executive education and leadership development experiences. Her focus was C-suite executives, top teams, strategic business transformation, and large-scale cascaded learning experiences using multi-modal learning design (residential, virtual, field, experiential, and coaching) to align people and strategy throughout an organization.

Cathy retired early from Harvard to join the senior team of Mobius Executive Leadership as Vice President of Global Business Development and Strategic Alliances.  Mobius is a boutique coaching and leadership development company working with clients as well as practitioners and coaches to advance the field of transformational leadership.  Earlier in her career, Cathy was a Principal at The Center for Executive Development (CED) specializing in business strategy and organizational leadership. In addition to her senior leadership roles with these organizations, Cathy also held positions early in her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cap Gemini and American Express.  Cathy has maintained an independent consulting and coaching practice throughout where she works with organizations, teams and individual executives.

In her executive coaching engagements, Cathy helps leaders transform by building capacity  and skills for curiosity, growth and development.  She specializes in interpersonal and team effectiveness, culture change, strategy execution, organizational alignment, enterprise leadership and key leadership transitions.  Her coaching work leverages research and thought leadership from experts across a broad range of disciplines including adult development, emotional agility, decision making, systems intelligence, customer centricity, strategy and innovation.

In her volunteer efforts, Cathy is a mentor to students in A Better Chance (ABC) and Partakers College Behind Bars programs; she also serves on the Advisory Council for Challenge Success, an organization that partners with schools, families and communities to embrace a broader definition of success and to implement research-based strategies that promote student well-being and engagement with learning.

Cathy received her MBA from Harvard Business School and her BA in Political Theory from Wesleyan University. Cathy is also certified in The Leadership Circle 360 profile.
