Jamie Moffitt, a Mobius Senior Consultant, has a broad career as a negotiation trainer, mediator, and facilitator for over 15 years. Her clients have included Fortune 500 corporations, academic institutions, executives, students, and practicing attorneys. She has helped teach negotiation courses at Harvard Law School through the Harvard Negotiation Project. While serving as the Training Director for the Harvard Mediation Program, she designed and delivered introductory and advanced trainings in mediation, negotiation, and facilitation. She also mediated a broad range of cases in the Boston District Courts, involving commercial disputes, landlord / tenant issues, criminal matters, and family conflicts. Jamie was an integral part of the initial design team that enabled the Legal Services Center associated with Harvard Law School to develop its first divorce mediation program serving lower income families in the Boston area.
Currently, Jamie is the University of Oregon’s vice president for finance and administration/chief financial officer. As vice president, she works with the broad university community to strengthen and further align central administrative and financial functions with the university’s core mission of teaching, research and service.
Jamie was previously the executive senior associate athletic director for finance and administration from May 2010 to December 2011. Prior to that, she was the associate dean for finance and operations at the UO School of Law from 2003 to 2010. In both positions, she reorganized budgeting and financial reporting processes and managed human resources and infrastructure improvements.
Jamie spent four years working as a consultant with the Boston office of a global management consulting firm, where she specialized in mergers and acquisitions. She both advised clients on their pre-acquisition negotiations and helped them to integrate operations following the completion of mergers. In post merger engagements, Jamie often led the efforts of dozens of teams to coordinate disparate operations. She then moved to the role of Vice President of Strategy and Professional Services for Beachfire, a venture capital-backed software company providing negotiation applications to the financial services sector. In 2001, when her family moved to Oregon, she joined mediate.com, a technology company providing web services and information to professionals in the dispute resolution field. As Chief Operating Officer she was responsible for oversight of daily operations, strategic planning, budgeting, financial projections, human resource issues, and communications with shareholders and the Board.
Jamie has a BA in economics from Harvard University, a Master’s Degree in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, and a JD from Harvard Law School. She has published multiple articles on negotiation and mediation and was a founding member and the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Negotiation Law Review.
