Judy Malan

It is my intention to help leaders realize their highest potential, as well as the potential of the groups and systems they are part of.

My approach is to ensure full integration between the so-called ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ aspects of organisational performance – to anchor the personal transformation and leadership development aspects of a team’s journey firmly in their business agenda and aspirations.

By helping to deepen leaders’ insight into themselves and their context, they have the opportunity to consciously shift their mindsets, and in turn to create an environment for their people that ultimately delivers sustained shifts in behaviour, delivering the impact desired.

I particularly enjoy supporting leadership transitions, working with teams who wish to deliver on a step-change in their agenda, and enabling groups to collaborate effectively where conflicting value systems co–exist, such as in public-private-social sector partnerships.

Before starting my practice as an independent leadership advisor, I had a 14 year career with McKinsey & Company where I was a partner based in the Johannesburg office, leading the firm’s organisation and public sector practices in South Africa. I hold a BComm (LLB) from Stellenbosch University and a BCL (Masters of Law) from Oxford University (Balliol College).

I live in Johannesburg with my husband Chris. We have two children, Lila and Kosaan, who are extraordinary teachers to us both. I am passionate about the African continent, and about growing a new generation of leaders to help Africa thrive in our lifetime.
