Mary Anne Somerville

Mary Ann Somerville, a Mobius Consultant and Executive Coach, is an international consultant, executive coach and seminar leader, specializing in the fields of leadership, communication and managing difficult conversations. For the last seven years she has conducted Managing Difficult Conversations courses for a variety of corporate clients including Honda, HP, Xilinx, Genentech, BP, Conoco Phillips, and PwC.

Mary Ann is an innovator in the field of experiential learning initiatives, designed to cultivate and expand the innate resources of her clients as individuals and as contributing members of their organizations and communities. As an executive coach, she is known for compassionate and intelligent interventions which assist her clients to transform old mindsets and behaviors into brilliant opportunities for personal fulfillment and outstanding results.

Mary Ann has been the Director of Training and International Enrollment Director for Insight Seminars. As the Director of Training, she designed programs and trained facilitators in Europe, the USA, Australia and South America. From 1978 to 1984 she worked as a Director of Insight Seminars on the East Coast of the United States, opening and managing offices in Boston, Philadelphia, New York, and Washington, D.C.Mary Ann has developed and delivered programs for Americorps volunteers, the Executive Board of the 4-H National Council and the Drucker Foundation. She has been a consultant to individuals and corporations in Europe, Australia, Canada, South America, Asia and Russia as well as the United States.

She co-founded and designed the Gift of the Heart Seminar. These seminars, funded through private donations and sponsored by Insight Seminars, are offered to patients, families and caregivers who are dealing with the challenges of life-threatening illnesses. Mary Ann also co-founded one of the first Parent Cooperative Schools in the United States.

Mary Ann holds a B.A. in Psychology, a Masters in Theology. She is a Certified Master Coach with the Behavioral Coaching Institute, ICC and a Master Practitioner of NLP. She lives in California, and when she is not on the road teaching and speaking, she is at work on a book that examines the structure of belief and it’s influence on our perception of what is possible.
