Michael Scott, a Mobius Senior Consultant and Executive Coach, has extensive entrepreneurial, management and leadership experience. He has been supporting executives in South African over the past ten years in building their capacity to lead their organisations within the complex social, political and institutional environment of the country.
Michael works as an executive coach and leadership development facilitator in both one-off targeted executive coaching assignments as well as large system-wide organisational change initiatives. Many of these initiatives in the past have focussed on the financial services sector.
Michael brings a holistic orientation to his work with executives and supports them in building a sense of self-knowledge and awareness and clarifying what matters to them so as to create alignment of purpose and vision between themselves, their teams and their organisations. He challenges his clients to build broader and deeper perspectives and mindsets to generative powerful ideas and create competitive solutions for their organisations.
Michael works best with clients who are willing to be declare their areas of learning within leadership and executive performance and who are prepared to invest time and energy in developing their consciousness and competencies to achieve desired results. Leaders who are in transition between roles, want to expand their scope of possibilities, see opportunities that they want to live into, are stuck and uncertain about aspects of themselves or who they interact with others, will experience both challenge and support from him in seeking
opportunities for growth and transformation.
Over the past ten years Michael has been instrumental in the start-up and development of two niche leadership and development consultancies that have had significant impact on their clients. Prior to this, he ran his own corporate finance consultancy supporting the CEOs of small and medium-sized businesses in identifying and implementing strategic initiatives involving complex financial transactions aimed at enhancing corporate performance. He also has 15 years of corporate management experience through JCI Limited, a South African
mining house, gaining experience in the areas of investment analysis, treasury management, and corporate finance. During this period he was integral to supporting the executive and board in the areas of strategy and new business development and corporate policy covering risk management, specifically gold and foreign exchange hedging, investor relations and strategic human capital.
Michael invests on an ongoing basis in his professional development as an executive coaching and has completed internationally accredited coaching and leadership development programmes through Newfield Network, Co-active Training Institute, Minds at Work (Immunity to Change Certified Coaching Programme) and the Process Work Institute in the USA.
