Pierre Avanzo

Pierre Avanzo has an extensive experience in management consulting as he worked for 18 years at McKinsey & Company across many diverse geographies. After completing 10 years of consulting experience across Europe and the US, he moved to India in 2005 as a partner to build McKinsey’s Organization and Leadership practice in Asia. He recently left McKinsey after a rich and fulfilling career to settle down in Geneva and dedicate himself to his passion of leadership development.

In an environment overly biased towards “hard analytical data”, Pierre’s passion has always been to take into consideration the individual and inter-personal dimensions of change. As he was helping Indian companies manage their disruptive growth and transform into global sustainable institutions, he pioneered an innovative capability building approach to accelerate the development of individuals and organizations. He built a network of facilitators and coaches to conduct mindset and behavior interventions in otherwise traditional performance transformation programs.

His consulting experience strides over a wide set of industries, ranging from Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Infrastructure, Consumer Goods and Consumer Durables, Retail, Steel and Power.

His preferred areas of intervention revolve around CEO coaching, top team effectiveness, and organizational leadership development. Additionally, he grew a soft corner and significant expertise in serving family-owned businesses, given his ability to hold both the emotional and business perspectives.

Aside from professional activities, Pierre Avanzo sits on the board of several Foundations. He holds an Engineering Degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris as well as an MBA from INSEAD.
