Gayle Irvin, RN, MA, is an Executive Coach and Organizational Consultant. Her practice centers on leadership, group development, and managing organizations through change. Gayle is a Gestalt trained practitioner and as such, incorporates Gestalt theories, models and concepts in her work with individuals and organizations.
Gayle’s first career was as a Registered Nurse specializing in substance abuse and mental health counseling. In the mid 1980’s Gayle changed careers, received a B.A. in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology and a certificate in Human Resources Administration from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. She then worked as a manager in the operational areas of a financial services company.
In the mid 1990s Gayle became a corporate trainer and conducted training in management, feedback, and communication; team training; performance management; coaching; motivation; and change management. In 2002 she received her M.A. from Columbia University in Organizational Psychology and Leadership.

Gayle completed the Organizational Systems Development Program, the International Coaching Program, and Group Track at the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland, OH. She is also trained in Small System Intervention at the International Gestalt Center in Wellfleet, MA. Gayle has a Masters degree from Columbia University in Organizational Psychology and Leadership.
Altogether, Gayle has over 25 years of experience working in corporations and non-profits, the healthcare industry, financial services, publishing, and media. From 2000 to 2005, Gayle was an Internal Consultant for Organizational Development with The New York Times. Gayle worked with top executives in numerous departments throughout the newspaper and in addition served the New York Times Company Regional Newspapers throughout the United States.
Since 2007, Gayle has worked closely with organizations in the United Kingdom, specifically Scotland. The focus was on leadership development, training, coaching and working with teams. In addition, Gayle selected and trained a team of six coaches in Scotland, and she continues to supervise and support that team of coaches.
Gayle has experience in conflict resolution having been an Associate in the National Coalition Building Institute in Washington DC, an organization committed to non-violent conflict resolution. Gayle is certified in the use of a wide variety of assessment instruments, including the Emotional Competency Inventory (ECI), the Group Development Questionnaire (GDQ), and the Herrmann Brain Dominant Inventory (HBDI). In addition, she received certification from the Hay Group in Behavioral Event Interviewing (BEI), a competency-based interviewing technique. She is also certified by Leadership Studies, Inc. in Situational Leadership.
Throughout her career, Gayle has managed and led teams both small and large and as such, understands first-hand the challenges facing people in management and leadership. Gayle coaches people from a base of strong solid experience
