Christian de la Huerta has been a speaker, seminar leader and retreat facilitator for the past 15 years, and has had experience on radio and television. As an author, Mr. de la Huerta is knowledgeable of the publishing industry. He wrote one of the ten best religion books of 1999 as noted by Publishers Weekly and was nominated for a Lambda Award.
Mr. de la Huerta is the former owner of Mercurio Communications, a publicity and promotions firm specializing the psychology, self-help, and spirituality genre. Before that, he was the vice-president and manager of a small press specializing in transpersonal psychology and spirituality. Prior to his career in publishing, he was Director of Marketing and Professional Relations for several psychiatric and addictions hospitals in South Florida. Mr. de la Huerta has spoken at churches, conferences, colleges and universities, including Ohio State University, Texas A & M, Carnegie Mellon University, Brown University, Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana University/Purdue University Indianapolis, University of Mississippi, UC San Francisco, UC Davis, UC San Diego, Commonwealth Club of California, and Rochester Institute of Technology. His extensive media experience includes hosting an online radio show, Spirit Wave.
Graduating with honors from Tulane University, Mr. de la Huerta holds a degree in Psychology. He is presently enrolled in the One Spirit Interfaith Seminary.
