Curtis has assisted individuals and firms through promotions, demotions, career changes, life after the executive suite, as well as mergers and hostile takeovers. This included the rigorous and multi-layered process of coaching the CEO of a midsized energy company through a difficult, multiyear takeover process. In the end, the CEO was able to negotiate a buy-out that succeeded in meeting shareholder expectations as well as ensuring employee job security.
Curtis has committed himself to achieving comprehensive expertise in executive coaching. He is certified by the International Coach Federation as a Master Coach, by the Newfield Network as an Ontological Coach, and by the Strozzi Institute as a Master Somatic Coach. Curtis is also certified in The Leadership Circle profile and MBTI.
As a team building and leadership consultant, Curtis has facilitated team alignments, communication, and conflict management sessions for many organizations including Mars Inc., NASA, FDIC, Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield, American Express, AT&T, Amtrak, Regeneron, Barclays, Citibank, J P Morgan Chase, BP, and Mann + Hummel. For the IT division of American Express, Curtis was part of a team that implemented a 2-year culture-change initiative for over 500 employees. For hundreds of middle managers at Citibank, he helped to facilitate a series of 5-day leadership programs. Post event surveys showed marked increases in manager’s capacity to influence without authority, increased productivity and employee retention.
