Deepa Awal

Deepa has over 20 years of experience in coaching leaders and mentoring coach practitioners.  She combines the discipline of organizational behavior with her skills, experience and beliefs about learning and coaching to enhance the capacity and competencies of her clients.

Coaching requires a belief in the power of learning that is not about having knowledge but about having the confidence to take action in diverse and changing situations. By listening, observing, and raising awareness of how our beliefs and emotions influence our behaviors, Deepa enables her clients to develop the capacity for greater effectiveness, presence and well-being.

Deepa has extensive experience in individual coaching, team building, 360 reviews and leadership development.  She has been an organizational consultant with Fortune 500 firms, is a leadership coach for the Executive Education Program at Wharton Business School, and facilitates learning groups for the Women’s Executive Leadership Workshop.

Deepa instructs and mentors professionals who desire to develop coaching skills both at Fielding University (Faculty) and Newfield Network (Program Coach).

She has a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the Stern School of Business, New York University and holds an MCC (Master Certified Coach) accreditation from the International Coach Federation (ICF). She has presented her research at ICF Conferences and Coach Training Educator Conferences (ACTO) and has been published in numerous professional journals.

Deepa’s rich personal experience as an immigrant from India informs her coaching with leaders in transition.  She speaks fluent English and Hindi and often coaches clients in South East Asia.

Deepa lives in Philadelphia, is a committed practitioner of meditation and self-inquiry, an avid tennis player, and the proud mother of two daughters.
