Mariana Martínez-Berlanga

Mariana serves as an executive coach, and draws from her extensive background in psychology. She has more than twenty years experience working in the field of child and family development. She has a strong academic foundation in psychology, particularly in child development and family issues from various perspectives including: educational, clinical, psycho-educational, and academic. She has lectured at Alliant International University, Mexico City at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level along with the Instituto Mexicano para la Exclelencia Educativa team (a leading NGO devoted to promoting higher educational standards in Mexico) where she launched and managed a media program for parents’ psycho-education. In addition, she was responsible for a series of workshops for parents in the school setting serving approximately 7000 parents annually.
Mariana is currently Adjunct Faculty at the University of Maryland at Baltimore County (UMBC) in the Psychology Department where she has taught Advanced Psychopathology and Child and Adolescent Psychopathology. Some of her responsibilities included the production and hosting of a daily radio show on family related issues, as well as of a weekly television program. She is a Clinical Associate at the Bowen Center for the Studies of Families in Georgetown, DC. In addition, she has always managed to keep her private practice active with a focus on family therapy. She also implemented and supervised the operation of a Hot Line that attended approximately 4500
calls annually.
Mariana’s passion for consultations in psychology shows in her educational background. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology with emphasis on child and family development form the California School of Professional Psychology. In addition, she has both her Masters in clinical psychology and Bachelors in psychology as well. Mariana thrives in challenging environments and is able to device and operate projects and to bring in fresh ideas given her experience in clinical practice, her bilingual and bicultural outlook, and her administrative experience. Her professional experience makes her ideally suited to combine clinical practice with training professionals.
