Ruth Ann Lake

Ruth Ann has over 25 years experience as a Management Consultant, Trainer and Executive Coach and has designed and delivered numerous Leadership and Management Development workshops and works in three languages : English, Italian and Spanish. Her particular expertise is in the Management Behaviour area. She often facilitates at conferences and
workshops which look at Effective Leadership, Sales Effectiveness, Change Management, Motivation, Influencing and Communications in a Team setting. Among her areas of expertise are Cross Cultural Management, Effective Negotiations and Presentations and Influencing across the Organization. Ruth is qualified in a wide range of tools and techniques including a certification in the MBTI, the FIRO B, the Ie5 (Emotional Intelligence) the LEA several other 360° instruments.

Ruth Ann, who is originally from Arizona, USA, began her professional life working for a major trade association in the automotive section, the federal government in Washington DC and a major Washington DC –based university developing training programs for key international institutions such as the World Bank, the IMF, the IBD, the OAS and several Embassies. After living and working for 3 and a half years in Latin America, Ruth desired to complete her desire for an international life with a European experience and she transferred to northern Italy where she is currently based, between Milan, Italy and Nice, in southern France. With over 20 years experience in Europe, Ruth Ann worked for a major Danish Consultancy and two Italian Consultancies specifically in the marketing, design and delivery of international Management Development programs. For her Bologna based company, she worked to create a joint venture with a major University in Moscow in the early years of Perestroika, which resulted in over 650 Russian managers following a series of Management Development Programs in Italy. During the last 15 years, Ruth Ann has worked as an Independent Consultant for major organizations in both the public, private and cooperative sectors. Ruth Ann is a member of the EPWN (European Professional Women’s Network, AIF (Associazione Italiana Formatori), the ASTD (American Society for Training and Development) and is on the board of SIETAR Italia (International Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research). Ruth Ann, who is of Cuban-Irish origin, holds three citizenships: USA by birth, Italian through naturalization and Lebanese through family.

Ruth has worked extensively in the pharmaceutical industry including initiatives for sales force effectiveness. In the last year she was worked extensively with several initiatives for Merck Seronno Middle East on assisting pharmaceutical reps to communicate better with medical doctors, pharmacies and hospital clients and to improve sales effectiveness. Previous similar initiatives were with Astra Zeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Solvay and Zambon Farmaceutica. Training sessions have been held in English, Italian and Spanish while she has observed group dynamics and done coaching for the Solvay initiative in French.

She has also published three books with the Franco Angeli Editore publisher in Milan, all in Italian. The first book focuses on Effective Business Presentations while the second book examines the art of Cross Cultural Negotiations. The third book, Leadership Relazionale, looks at diversity and personality type in Effective Teams and examines how people can work more effectively together.
