Sander Tideman

Sander Tideman is specialized in leadership development for strategic change and sustainability transitions. He works with companies and institutions across the globe. He has special expertise in banking and finance, law and professional services, public agencies and the not-for-profit sector.

Sander’s work centers on the interplay between business and society, engaging with issues such as leadership development, sustainability strategy and innovation, and creating sustainable high performance. He takes a special interest in Asia, where he has taken on high-level assignments on complex  issues and where he lived for ten years. His mission is to help organizational leaders to develop the capacity to effectively respond to the new challenges of this time, utilizing the full creative potential of the mind. He integrates principles of yoga and mind-training into his leadership development work.

Sander (co-) authored many articles and books, including Mind over MatterTowards a New Paradigm in Leadership of Business and Economics, and Business as Instrument for Societal Change, co-authored with H.H. the Dalai Lama.

In addition to his work with Mobius, Sander serves on the faculty of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). He started his career practicing law at Baker & McKenzie (Amsterdam and Taipei office) with a focus on the Asian emerging markets. Sander then turned to international finance, in leadership roles at ABN AMRO Bank, where he was Country Director in China (leading offices in Beijing and Shanghai), VP in Structured Trade Finance and VP Risk Management. He also worked with Triodos Bank as Director International Fund Management and as consultant to the The World Bank and the Government of Bhutan. He went on to complement his expertise with leadership, strategy and organizational change, as he believed that these are indispensible knowledge domains for tackling the world’s increasing economic, social and ecological challenges. He serves on several boards of social enterprises and NGO’s.

He speaks English, Dutch and Mandarin Chinese fluently and has working knowledge of German. He loves outdoor trekking, skiing, skating, yoga and soccer.
